Welcome to the Strawberry Community Cycle Event!
After a prolonged absence, HI Friends are delighted to announce that the Strawberry Community Cycle Event will be returning in 2024!
Unfortunately, due to the continued bad state of the local roads and potholes, the Strawberry 55 and 28 will not be running again this year.
Sunday, 1st September, 2024. Registration and event opening from 9am.
What is the Strawberry Community Cycle Event?
Established in 2015, the Strawberry rides have become a successful mass participation sporting event with hundreds of cyclists participating each year. The rides are a fun and relaxed way to enjoy cycling along the country roads of south west Cambridgeshire, and are open to cyclists of all level and abilities. Participants range from young adults to veterans, from occasional cyclists to keen club riders. Everyone cycles at their own speed or with friends and family.
Choose from one of three routes: 20 miles, 11 miles or 9 miles, all away from main roads. The courses are well mapped, with emergency contacts and helpful route keys. Refreshments are available for sale at Histon Recreation Ground, the start and end point of the rides, offering a chance to take a rest, pick up a snack, and chat with other cyclists.
The Strawberry Community Cycle Event is organised by HI Friends.
